I became a photographer six years ago when studying abroad in Shanghai. The title was bestowed upon me by my new friends, who’d grown accustomed to me carrying my camera anywhere I went. They enjoyed my photos, and I enjoyed taking them. The title’s stuck ever since, and it’s a lot better than some of the other names my friends have given me.
I enjoy doodling, cyberpunk, listening to jazz, and spending most of my time by myself. I am a vegetarian, though my friends often take me to steakhouses because they don’t care how I feel. I once ate a zebra on accident in Zimbabwe.
When not pursuing other activities, I work as an instructor in the Philosophy Department at Sacramento State University. I am grateful to have warm colleagues and thoughtful students.
I frequently travel to my hometown of Los Angeles and – whenever time permits – to San Francisco, where I spent most of my ‘coming of age’ years.
I’ve included some of my earliest photos (from August 2011 – July 2012) below for your viewing pleasure.
